DATE : September 27, 2022

ILIGAN CITY (PIA) – The City Health Office (CHO) here targets to vaccinate more than 100,000 Iliganons against coronavirus disease 2019 during the first 100 days of the Marcos administration.

This after the ‘PinasLakas’ booster campaign was launched at City Public Plaza on July 26 to support the nationwide vaccination effort in increasing COVID-19 booster doses for the eligible population.

Acting City Health Officer Dr. Glenn Manarpaac urged the residents to get a booster shot for their protection and to help revive the economy.

“Malaki ang maitutulong ng booster shots especially sa paghelp natin na ma open ang economy. I think ang ating economy ay babangon at makakastart na tayong idevelop ang ating city na pinadala ng pandemic na ito,” he said.

[The booster shots will help us to open the economy. I think our economy will rise and we will be able to start developing our city that was brought down by this pandemic.]

Based on the data of the Department of Health-10 as of July 26, the fully vaccinated coverage in the city is now at 77.10%. Meanwhile, the 1st booster dose coverage is still at 17.20%.

DOH-10’s Family Health Cluster Head Dr. Elma Oclarit said the city has reached 90.3% coverage of fully immunized A2 or senior citizens before the release of the presidential directives.

As of July 31, the overall number of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases increased to 6,310 with 5,792 recoveries, 490 deaths, and 28 active cases admitted to hospitals and on home quarantine. (LELA/PIA-10-Lanao del Norte)
