𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬!

In line with the celebration of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week (DAPC) this coming November 17 - 23, 2024, the Iligan City Youth Development Office in partnership with the Iligan City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ICADAC) is calling for participants for the 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐊 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.

𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐊 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍:

1. This competition is open exclusively to participants from Iligan ages 𝟏𝟓 – 𝟑𝟎 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝.
2. Each entry of the Balak should be in a vernacular form, 𝐁𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚.
3. Entries must be a minimum of 𝐭𝐰𝐨 (𝟐) 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 and must not exceed to 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 (𝟑) 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬.
4. The 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤 must not be disrespectful to the public morals; it must not contain indecent language; and it must encourage goodwill to the people of Iligan.
5. The content of the Balak should have 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐫𝐡𝐲𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 should be observed at all times.
6. The Balak must be 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 of "𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒛𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉-𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒑𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒏 𝑫𝒓𝒖𝒈 𝑼𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍".
7. The Balak piece entered for the competition must be an 𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, not yet published in any platforms.
8. Performance Date will be on 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝟏𝟎:𝟑𝟎 𝐀𝐌 at the 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐚.
9. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 according to their preference BUT obscene clothing is not allowed.
10. The use of props is 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝. However, we opted for the 𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜.
11. The copy of the entry must be sent through email to the following address: 𝐜𝐦𝐨𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥@𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥.𝐜𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝟓:𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐦 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲.
12. Only entries submitted on the said date are to be 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 for the contest proper.
13. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 will be determined according to the following criteria:
Content/ Message – 40%
Rhyme/ Cadence – 20%
Delivery of Voice – 20%
Originality – 20%
14. The Decision of the Board of Judges is 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞.
